- John Hynckleye was overseer of the will of his brother Robert who died in 1522. The baptismal entries of this family may be found in the Parish Registers and Bishop's Transcripts at Harrietsham, which town lies next to Lenham and seven miles southeast of Maidstone. It contains a very ancient church, the earliest part of which is said to date from 1150. The old font, in which doubtless the Hinckley children were baptized was still in existence in 1911.3
